What is an RSS Reader?

RSS stands for "real simple syndication." Essentially, it's a way to give you access to specific online content without having to surf back to your favorite site. Think of it as a direct content feed for the latest news, stories, and blogs from Fight Identity Theft.

First, you’ll need an RSS reader. This is the tool that collects the news in the background, and warns you that new content has arrived. You can then click the news headline to see a short description of the news item—or click further open the entire original news web page.

Feed Readers
There are a growing number of RSS readers, and many of them are free to download. Here are a two that we highly recommend:

Mozilla Thunderbird | Google Reader

You could also use FeedBurner, which has over 100,000 users and is especially simple for someone just starting out with RSS.

Adding Our Feed
Once you have installed your choice of reader, you'll need to subscribe, by inserting the following “Fight Identity Theft RSS” url into your reader:

http://fightidentitytheft.com/blog/?feed=rss2

Some readers allow you to simply drag the icon (found in the right-hand navigation) into the reader window. You'll see the same kind icon on many other sites.

We have various feeds available, if you're looking for something specific:
